Album Notes

Alice Stuart was one of the first women to front a band not only as a singer and songwriter, but as a gifted guitar player and songwriter. Her band, Snake, played on national and international circuits and was the support group for Van Morrison on a 2 month tour in the mid 70s. Her current band, The Formerlys, have individually played with many of the giants of the Northwest music scene since the 60s. Together, they deliver a high energy performance of original music, blending rock, country and blues. This music is popular with young and old alike. Alice has received awards from the Washington Blues Society for Best NW CD and Best Blues Songwriter (twice) and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. The Seattle Weekly honored the group with an award for Best Seattle Blues Band of 2004 and in 2005, Alice got an award for Best Seattle Guitarist.
