This CD proves a guitarist's profound dedication, and a singer's fragile yet powerful voice, can generate an eclectic and electrifying mix that gives a twist even to the contemporary.

I love your CD!

This CD jumps out in a sea of sameness and dares to break tradition with well, for lack of better words, tradition. Featuring David M. McLean on guitar and a female vocalist named "Blue". The CD is filled with a single acoustic guitar and vocals blues. These two artists pour their hearts out and lay it on line to entertain, and entertained I was. It was refreshing to hear two people just make music and being themselves. At first I felt as though I stepped into an old time blues club and these two took the stage just doing blues standards, later I am treated to what they really have hidden up their sleeves.
Guitar wise David has the mojo for sure, from his approach on blues classics to his very impressive instrumentals. In fact David has planted 4 instrumentals within the CD and all are a treat and each explores a unique vibe, quite often giving me "the chills" proving his impact. His instrumentals are captivating, making sounds emanate from an acoustic guitar I have never heard. The instrumental tracks are his calling card and each let's you know he is a master of this instrument. David is capable of some jaw dropping technique on acoustic, and not since Eddie's "Spanish Fly" have I heard playing like this. A bonus electric instrumental "Amazing Grace" is also featured.
The vocals on this CD display Blue's outstanding vocals. Liquid smooth, Blues' vocals go down like a warm brandy. She never tries to "play the blues card" by overdoing runs or adding unneeded rasp. She just sings honest and from the heart. The song called "Revenge" really jumps out as a beautiful awesome power ballad. When a song can come across this strong with just a single acoustic and one vocal you know you have a winner here. The track "Desperation" changes gears, and sounding almost 1920's-30s era. "Fade Away" is a modern power ballad evoking the power and clout of a U2 or Queensryke song. This track should be the hit of the CD and is an absolute work of art, and again is just one vocalist and an acoustic guitar! It's obvious these two have paid their dues in the clubs. From blues standards, original blues, instrumental acoustic wonders, and power ballads I was entertained. From the CD I would have to say it would be well worth the ticket price to see these two perform live!
