Album Notes

At the dawn of the Australian summer of 2004, Alien Zoo\'s frontman Sam Joole was handed the keys to a disused print factory due to be demolished in seven days. Armed with a couple of musos from the aussie rock circuit and a vague idea that one week was enough time to capture the moment, Sam set about writing and recording \'Zephanom\' Alien Zoo\'s debut album.

With it\'s mix of spaced out rock\'n\'roll and slap in the face lyrics, and with the help of a couple of London based animators, \'Zephanom\' became an instant phenomenon. The videos for \'New York Girl in Baghdad\' and \'Robot World\' harvested over 100\'000 views in their first two weeks on the Alien Zoo website and Zephenom went on to receive generous airplay on college stations across the U.S.

Since then, Alien Zoo has toured Zephanom through venues as geographically diverse as The Viper Rooms in LA and London\'s 12 Bar Club.

Zephanom also featured as a live music and animation installation at Australia\'s independent \'Filmink\' awards at Warner Brothers studios in Sydney.

Three years on from Zephanom, Alien Zoo continues as a 5 piece collaboration between musicians and artists from London, Marseilles and
Sydney. The most recent addition to the line-up is Thor, while he may not be the actual god of thunder (although we suspect he is), he
definitely is the son of Simon House from legendary prog rock band Hawkwind.
