Album Notes
Alific is the product of Brendan Dane that uses all influences from life to create music. Meshing all genres and styles of music, Alific has no boundaries when it comes to creating music.

All of Alific's music is self-produced and recorded from his home recording studio. Aside from continually expanding his knowledge of the recording arts, Alific enjoys experimenting with new production techniques and recording software and will always push himself to exceed his own musical boundaries. Being a strong believer in the power of music, Alific's main goal is to influence others to learn and use music in their everyday lives to help benefit themselves.

Musician/Producer Alific started out playing bass guitar in a number of different styles of bands growing up. Ranging from jam bands to rock, reggae, funk and hip hop bands in high school and college, to infectious beach style dub rhythms while living on the West Coast, Alific has no boundaries when it comes to music. Gaining knowledge of the recording arts while in college, Alific crafted the skills of recording, engineering and producing by learning from his musical influences and always leaving room to grow as a professional.
"I enjoy creating music that will get you tapping your feet"

The Process:
Most songs on this album started out as a baseline in my head. I then layer a drum beat to it and from there the songs main groove/feel is born. All songs on this album feature either Reason MIDI drums or real live sampled drums from Todd Smith, whom I recorded drumming in a practice studio and later cut up and edited to adapt to each song accordingly. I then continuously add more musical parts to each song one piece at a time. I add vocals, guitar (both electric and acoustic), piano, percussion, and any sound FX's I feel will positively contribute to the song. I generally work without a time limit or time frame when constructing a song. Some songs take years to complete, others take an afternoon. I never try and rush it when it comes to creating music…I let the music flow on its own time. All songs on this album were written, recorded, produced and arranged in my home recording studio.

Dub in the District is dub-rock paradise!
Alific’s debut album “Dub in the District” is a ten-track tour through dub-rock paradise. Each song sounds like a journey, but only two tracks on the album have refined lyrics. The musical talents of musician/producer Brandon Dane are so vast, choruses and chants are not necessary.
