Album Notes
Alison's past two cd's Blonde Hair Blues and Love All Of Me have been Blues while at the same time skirting the edges of Country, Rock and Jazz. While known as a Blues artist, this new cd Another Thousand Miles is very different, both vocally and musically from what she has ever done. Simple yet so moving these songs kept touching her heart as well as getting a very strong reaction from listeners when ever they were played in acoustic sets that she decided they needed to come to life. As a writer this album gets personal and digs deep. The fact that she has traveled and lived all over the world and currently resides in Stuttgart Germany gives meaning to Another Thousand Miles and Home Is Where We Are. As a little girl she really did wear out the toes of her Sunday shoes like in Faith Will Come Around and she loves to read romance novels just like Sadie in Sadie's Mind. Alison, with one of her favorite artist Goose Gossett, originally recorded When The Saint's Go Marching for a dear friend that had passed away and decided it could not be left off the album.
Musically and lyrically Alison and Another Thousand Miles is beautifully emotional.
