ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Alivia Bright-Maple Biko was born in the Midwest and named Cindy Sue McDonald. She grew up on dairy and beef farms, and was driving tractors at a young age. She started playing guitar and writing songs as soon as she could hold a guitar, but her first love has always been singing. She has had various types of jobs, but has always written poetry and done artwork; painting, sculpture, & building things.

The first time Alivia Biko heard her music played on the radio she went weak in the knees and did the blank stare into space. That wasn't so bad, except she was driving a friend's brand new car. Biko has traveled all over the U.S. singing and bringing music, art, and ministry to various groups.

Her first CD was released Easter of 2001, produced by Kevin Behr. She is currently in the studio working on the next 4 CD's. One is a collection of hymns, two a collection of children's songs, three peace songs and four brand new originals.

Biko is co-founder of Freedom Friends Church (http://freedomfriends.org), and is also building an art & music studio. More information on booking Alivia and on her other projects can be found at http://aliviabiko.com

Clear, bright, and gentle . . there is reason to be grateful
Clear, bright, and gentle, Alivia Biko’s music reminds me that there are blue skies behind the clouds, and there is reason to be grateful and optimistic. For me, Art of Life is like a visit home, where I am reminded of what truly matters, I’m not without hope and help, that there is more to life than the troubles I face, that I can relax and smile at the grace and peace and love that do indeed abound.

Heart-touching, spiritually encouraging, Christian music with meaning.
This album will become your favorite because of its messages; its style; and its focus on holiness with meaning. The tunes reach inside, inspiring connections with godliness. All that, coupled with Alivia Biko's pure voice, add up to an album worth having.

Great peaceful, gentle tunes to waft through the house; super for KIDS!
We love this cd at my house. My daughters, 4 and 9, have enjoyed going to sleep at night with music on their cd players since they were wee babes. They love this cd. These songs are just beautiful - rich, soothing, melodic.

Smooth vocals, uplifting melodies and lyrical purity...
Alivia Biko's Art of Life has drifted coast-to-coast from the obscurity of her home town in Oregon to the North Carolina community where I hang my hat. The heart-hugging warmth of her voice, accompanied by her skilled guitar work and the excellant musicianship of her talented friends make this truly independant release a worthy mainstay to your favorite cds rotation.
