Alivia Bright-Maple Biko was born in the Midwest and named Cindy Sue McDonald. She grew up on dairy and beef farms, and was driving tractors at a young age. She started playing guitar and writing songs as soon as she could hold a guitar, but her first love has always been singing. She has had various types of jobs, but has always written poetry and done artwork; painting, sculpture, & building things.
The first time Alivia Biko heard her music played on the radio she went weak in the knees and did the blank stare into space. That wasn't so bad, except she was driving a friend's brand new car. Biko has traveled all over the U.S. singing and bringing music, art, and ministry to various groups.
Her first CD was released Easter of 2001, produced by Kevin Behr. She is currently in the studio working on the next 4 CD's. One is a collection of hymns, two a collection of children's songs, three peace songs and four brand new originals.
Biko is co-founder of Freedom Friends Church (http://freedomfriends.org), and is also building an art & music studio. More information on booking Alivia and on her other projects can be found at http://aliviabiko.com
