Album Notes

If you look up the definition of the word Mountain in the dictionary, you'll find several. One states "a natural elevation of the earth's surface rising more or less abruptly to a summit, and attaining an altitude greater than that of a hill, usually greater than 2000 ft." Another claims "a large mass of something resembling this, as in shape or size or a huge amount, as in “a mountain of laundry”. In any case, Mountain depicts something of mass - a hugeness, which is why it was chosen as a title to represent this body of work. And now the wait is over. On Tuesday, September 11, 2007, you’ll get to hear what is described as ”an emotionally super-charged sonic roller coaster ride through hope, love and life”. Mountain is the next step in Allan Chapman’s musical evolution and a worthy companion to it’s predecessor, embarking on new musical territory while remaining true to it’s rock & soul roots. Like All We Are, all songs were written, arranged, performed, engineered and produced by Chapman. The album sports 14 exciting tracks. As one reviewer wrote: “Allan Chapman’s songs are passionate, thought-provoking and compelling, rivaled only by his unique ability to take covers and make them his own. His live performance is powerful with his distinct sound, fusing a robust vibrato (along with some great accompanist musicians) and rhythmic guitar stylings which practically force the audience to get up and dance.” And, as another reviewer wrote, "Listening is believing". We think you'll agree.
