"Circle Be Unbroken - Cash Forever Tribute" is amazing! After hearing the CD, I was so impressed I insisted that Doug Allen and his band come to Hailey, Idaho for a show. So they did! (March 2009 at The Mint) It was a fantastic event and the sound that I was expecting was just as incredible as that on the CD. Everyone was impressed. If you get the chance, book the show in your town, too!! Side note - while my husband was at sea all summer, he played this CD for the crew and they could not tell it was not the real Johnny.

I had a great time working on this project and was amazed at the production when it came back from Jeff Silverman in Nashville. Doug Allen really captures the sound of Cash, great percussive work by Dan Stewart and I love the fiddle playing by Steve Stokes. This is a must have for any Johnny Cash fan and if you get a chance to see the show, check it out!!!

Not only did I enjoy working on this project as mixing engineer, but I also have to compliment Doug Allen and his commitment to preserve the "essence" of Johnny Cash's music while still finding creative ways to give the songs a new contemporary flair. The stellar interpretation and vocal performances by Doug were the first things I was impressed with. Special guest appearances by Scott Vestal, Dave Flint and Steve Stokes gave this CD that special "Nashville" touch to say the least! The final mastering by Jim Haydon also contributed to making this CD sparkle and "punch" in the way that it was intended to. Some of my personal favorites are "If I Were A Carpenter", "I Still Miss Someone" and "Give My Love To Rose". If you love Johnny Cash, you should love this CD!

This CD brings alive the great Johnny Cash sound! Doug has captured the spirit and heart of Johnny's music. This is a great CD to have in your collection. My favorite cuts are JACKSON and DADDY SANG BASS. I am a huge Johnny Cash fan and this is the best I have heard!
