Allied Gardens is a side project of San Diego veteran singer-songwriters Peter Bolland, Michael Tiernan and Sven-Erik Seaholm. Allied Gardens, named for the San Diego neighborhood where the album was recorded, grew out of the natural camraderie and organic friendship of its three members. Allied Gardens began a year ago when Bolland, Tiernan and Seaholm began doing songwriter-in-the-round shows at Hot Java Cafe in Carmel Mountain Ranch. They liked what they heard.
Bolland, Tiernan and Seaholm just put out albums of their own a few months ago. In May of 2007 Bolland's band The Coyote Problem released "California", Tiernan released "Spaces" and Seaholm released "Sotto Voce". Despite this flurry of activity, new songs keep happening, and they needed an outlet. Out popped "Allied Gardens".
All three artists were just nominated for a San Diego Music Award, and all three are previous nominees and winners of numerous awards. Sometimes they are mistaken for celebrities.
When Bolland, Tiernan and Seaholm aren't busy making bitchen music, they enjoy crocheting, crock pot cookery and petting kittens.
