Album Notes

Alli Lubin has been playing, composing and teaching music in Vermont for thirty years. She plays a classic Martin D-28 guitar and a silver flute, and combines folk, bluegrass, blues, and country styles into her compositions.

Back in the old days, the 70's, she ran the West Bank Restaurant in South Londonderry, Vermont where local musicians gathered to perform and jam. She then spent fifteen years on the road playing solo, and in several duos and bands including the bluegrass band Black River Ramblers and two years with the reggae band, Saylyn, playing flute and keyboards.

For the past ten years she has been Head of the Music Department and Technology Administrator at The Grammar School in Putney, Vermont where she enjoys teaching music composition in her midi lab.

Children of the Mountains is her first CD - a digitally remastered vintage album of originals from 1983; bluegrass, blues, folk and country. Superb backup musicians featuring Vermont's finest bluegrass band, Banjo Dan and the Midnite Plowboys, violinist Joel Smirnoff of the Juilliard Quartet and Cosmic Jimmy Jay on pedal steel guitar.
