ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“Shimmering acoustica; gentle, almost post-rock space folk tunes. It’s comfortable music – big lush and beautiful” – Inpress

“One of the reasons I like The Silent Surf so much is that you can listen to a cut like this over and over, and never really get to the bottom of it.” - Blogcritics

“The good news is that this album is a legitimate masterwork of mood, flow, vibe and other intangibles. The music really jams and breathes, sounds beautiful, and is easy to listen to – not in any cheap or superficial” foxydigitalissense, but in that it grabs you gently and makes it easy to stay within its space while enjoying its feeling of unhurried motion. Quite lovely.” - foxydigitalis

Like the soundtrack to a beautiful and strange film, All India Radio's new album is all about scratchy atmospheres, dreamy beats, tremolo guitars and gorgeous melodies, evoking images of cosmonauts, lost 1970s surf movies and lone gunmen straight out of an Ennio Morricone dream.

The album features the voice of Professor Don Gurnett, famous for his NASA ‘space sounds’ (used by the Kronos Quartet on their famous Sun Ring recordings) and a cameo by The Church’s Steve Kilbey (Under The Milky Way).
