Infectious, haunting and definitely worth owning
author: Aaron-Carl
From beginning to end, this CD took me through an array of emotions. From Allison's chilling, yet beautiful voice -- a cross between Fiona Apple and Alanis Morrissette, to the haunting and infectious melodies... I was enveloped; almost trapped. At the same time, her lyrics are both funny and intelligent. With each song, you get (what feels like) an exclusive glimpse into her heart and mind. You witness her bravery, her vulnerability, her soul. Like the song says, she's "absolutely fabulous" when she gets her groove on. You GO girl!

Allison is love

First I was disturbed by the music. Normally I hear "beautiful" music. But than I realized that this music takes you to another side. And if you have heard Allison you can go back to your "normal" music and love her again and more (so called win-win-situation). That is a great effect. And than the more you hear Allison the more you love her. Now the CD is one of my diamonds I don't want to give away. Thanks so much Allison.

fun and unique

Some of this stuff will totally blow you away -- "Back of my neck" especially, you don't want it to end; her voice booms this amazing, sultry vibrato that's sassy and powerful at the same time. "Dorothy's Reply" and "Absolutely Fabulous" get kinda ridiculous at times, especially the former (with lines like "and those damn wing'd monkeys"), but you have to take it more as campy fun than anything serious. That's not to say that Tartalia shouldn't be taken seriously though -- anyone who can sing "thou thou" and "thy winter sky" without sounding pretentious is definitely going places. Let's just hope she doesn't lose her originality along the way.
