Album Notes

THE SARAJEVO SESSIONS was recorded after the war in Almer's home country of Bosnia-Herzegovina. When the war broke out, Almer was a student in the Music High School in Sarajevo, but during the four years of war, had no access to the classical guitar. When the war ended, he returned to Sarajevo to finish his musical studies and began to play the classical guitar once more. This recording is a testament to this artist's great dedication and love of this beautiful instrument and its repertoire.

This album features some of Almer's favorite compositions including works by Spanish composers Turina and Torroba as well as music by Lauro and Imamovic's own original works. The album concludes with a moving interpretation of J.S. Bach's infamous Chaconne in d minor.
