Alpha Music was founded in 1985 by four musicians with varied backgrounds encompassing classical, traditional, folk, ecclesiastic and modern popular forms. With their latest release, "Greek Music of the Twentieth Century", Alpha Music continues to please its long-time fans and lure new aficionados to its fold via a musical extravaganza that represents a symbiotic melding of their musical talents and a celebration of the music that gained them their noteworthy reputation.

The musicians creating the uniquely expressive style that had made Alpha Music one of the most sought-after Greek bands in the NYC tri-state area and abroad, are renown in their own right within the musical community. Trifonas Nicolaides, who has commanded a large presence for over twenty-five years throughout Cyprus, Greece, Israel and the US, lends his signature vocal style to the band's latest recording. Beyond maintaining the pulse of Alpha Music with his driving rhythms, drummer/percussionist Steve Vavagiakis, a Grammy-nominated recording engineer, producer and longtime veteran and supporter of the NYC music scene, exhibits his other forte with the recording, mixing and mastering of the CD. George Vlesmas, the newest member of the Alpha family who has performed with numerous Greek vocalists throughout Europe and Asia and spent twelve years as the bouzouki player with the infamous Trio Belcanto, completes the trio by provoking haunting melodies from the bouzouki, baglama, tsouras and guitar.
