Alfonso X, "El Sabio"(The Wise)(1221-1284)was a Castillian king who played music and chess along with arabs and jews. Zampogna, conducted by Wouter J. Smekens, performs his wonderful cantigas, songs in Galician language, on original instruments. Unique!: recording in periodic tuning scale.
This timeless music has been performed in concert rooms as well as on World Music stages.
