ALSO's sound is primarily melodic pop, combining raw singer/songwriter inclinations with a clever upbeat pop catchiness. The arrangements are artful and hook-savvy, and the lyrics are unashamedly emotional, combining to make ALSO's music equally at home with a variety of audiences. This fact became apparent when the band was voted #1 out of all genres by listeners on FarmClub.com in April 2001, ending the month with a grand total of over 17,000 votes. Dirk Dutton, founder of SunsetStripRadio.com, praised the band upon hearing their music, claiming they "have a true original sound...can't compare them to anyone".
Stylistically, ALSO's music shares similarities with a number of bands - from the artful catchiness of Belle & Sebastian and Starsailor, to the emotional intensity of Jeff Buckley and Elbow, to the gorgeous dream pop of The Sundays, the songs are appealing on many levels. They are intellectually intriguing as well as satisfying to the simple desire for a good melody and groove.
The group is comprised of Drew Conrad on vocals and guitars, Mark Zelen on bass, and Scotland Stephenson on drums.

Just as good as the other cds.

It's a home recording but it still sounds pretty good. The music is Raw and the sound is incredible. I love the way Also did I Can't Shake This, and The Present. These versions are a little different from the ones on their third cd. I absolutely love the song Michael. It reminds me of The Smiths, but Also has their own unique sound. Drew sure can sing, his voice is Amazing.
