“Blunt, opinionated and most importantly hilarious, JT and his tour are some of the most talented underground comics performing today.” - Amp Magazine, February 2008
“JT has chosen a decidedly unconventional path within the standup world, and I am a fan. Does that mean I’m going to hell?” - The Onion AV Club, June 2008
Initiated and headlined JT Habersaat, publisher of the long-running punk periodical Altercation Magazine, the Altercation Punk Comedy Tour is a growing collective of underground standup comics dedicated to the DIY get-in-the-van mentality of Black Flag combined with the anything-goes artistic approach to the form as personified by Bill Hicks. The current roster includes Habersaat, NY’s Chris Cubas, Texas native Ruby Collins and Portland, OR’s Richie Stratton.
The Altercation Tour completed its initial month-long national tour in April 2008 to packed houses and raves, completing 27 shows in 28 days. The group returned to punk venues, dive bars and cabaret theaters on both coasts for the entire month of October, culminating with their appearance at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas in November, where the group is scheduled to perform alongside Bad Brains, Dead Milkmen, The Bouncing Souls, and many more.
With credits including appearances on Vans Warped Tour, Comedy Central and Troma Films, and their debut comedy album ‘Metal Up Live’ hitting store shelves this fall, the Altercation Punk Comedy Tour is quickly becoming the premier standup tour of the underground scene.
