Album Notes

Alterior is an experimental electronic project in New Jersey. The music is in the vein of IDM, Breakcore as well as industrial but is also influenced by videogame music, particularly for older consoles with a fantasy sound such as Roleplaying games for the Super Nintendo. The music conveys vibrant soundscapes that are rich in harmony, polyphony but with more violent percussion.

In \"No Reason to Be Ashamed\", style and the instrumentation varies for each piece; while tracks such as \"Oxygen\", \"Kid B\" and \"Corporate Park\" employ sung vocals (the former ones with countertenor \"male alto\" singing and the latter with baritone vocals), while in \"Datta. Dayadhvam. Damyata.\" the vocals become part of the drum patterns itself. While \"Try to Smile At Least Once a Day\" has violin dancing around soft accompaniment and frantic drums, \"Kree\" is completely engulfed in Glitch and Industrial Noise styles.

Alterior is currently engulfed in writing classical and jazz music, but is planning on completing another electronic CD soon.

\"No Reason to Be Ashamed\" is a wild mix of distorted synthesizers, frenetic drumming, and atmospheric vocals. Despite the sheer amount of activity going on in the mix, however, the pervasive sense of melody makes the album feel grounded and certain. Alterior\'s voice provides a calming, stable focal point for the ear to glide with over the percussive fires below. Look for this gem in \"Corporate Park.\"
