Album Notes

From the deserts of Santa Fe, Racecar is riding a heat wave of measurable success resulting from their widely recognized 2004 self-titled album and their award winning 2008 release Dance Like A Ghost. "Sometimes you hear a song that makes a great emotional impact. Dance Like A Ghost by Racecar is such a song." (Vh1’s Save the Music Foundation, Song of the Year, R09003RZ, Mixing Tech, 2008).

The song Dance Like a Ghost received an "Excellence in Songwriting" award from Vh1's Save the Music Foundation and the album was awarded "Best Rock CD" by the New Mexico Music Awards. The song Dance Like A Ghost also was awarded the “Best Alternative-Rock Production” by the NMMA. Previously David Alyassin, Racecar’s Songwriter & Executive Producer, received a "Gold Artist" award from KWRI while Racecar climbed international music charts with the songs 'Mystical Ages' & ‘Nothin’ But A Dream’. Recently Racecar was surprised to see material from the new album on the charts of American Idol Underground. Racecar’s songs have been covered by J Ryan & Hands of Time.

Racecar’s music ranges in style from the dirty electric guitars on Dozens of Roses and the smooth electro-dance beat of Camera Man to the delicate acoustic ballad sound of Man Walking.

Dance Like A Ghost was produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Trinity Studios by Jeffrey Mettling and mastered by Andrew Click of Santa Fe’s Stepbridge Studio; a world-class recording outfit visited by the likes of Dan Fogelberg and Dwight Yoakam. “Racecar demonstrates to be very good at exploring the dusty curves of a hypothetical sunset in the heart of the United States." (Italy, In Your Eyes Zine, Dolorean Gray, 2006).
