Alyssa started showing interest in music as a young child. At only 11 months old she would bounce up and down whenever a Paula Abdul song came on. Showing interest in musical instruments, she excelled at learning the flute taking after her Mother at only 8 years old. During a 5th grade recital at her elementary school, she wowed her audience to a standing ovation and brought many to tears playing a solo to the theme from Titanic. Performing came naturally to Alyssa and found comfort when on the stage.
While Alyssa continued playing and performing with the flute, she found a new love, singing. Singing was always something Alyssa loved to do. Whether it was performing for family and friends in the living room or singing in the shower. At the age of 10, she was writing poetry and started writing lyrics with melodies. As her confidence began to grow, Alyssa started singing at local churches in their choirs and bands along with several café’s and local fairs. She quickly discovered Country Music and fell in love once more. She eventually met up with local song writers and became aware of how writing music came so easily to her. It wasn’t long before she had her own original songs.
Writing songs has become a big part of Alyssa’s life; she shares her love of music on YouTube with cover songs from her favorite singers. As she sings several different genres, her true love is country music and that’s what she writes. Her music shows off both her tough and her sweet side. Her unique voice draws people in with her country blues and rock sound. She’d like everyone to know that despite what her lyrics may say, no one is Down Like Dead…yet. ;)
