Album Notes

Alyssa Schwary is one of the most accomplished and moving singers to emerge from the Pacific Northwest! Combining years of study at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and 20 years of touring the world singing, Alyssa has developed her own unique style. She has received critical acclaim, yet remains unassuming and easy to work with. She has performed all over the globe and in every state of the USA.

She released her first CD, Another Chance, in Frankfurt, Germany to three consecutively sold out shows at the Jazzcellar! The CD was award winning in Seattle and Portland, voted as one of the Northwest's "Top Ten". She received national air play on American Public Radio and American College Radio.

Alyssa has performed as the opening act, or recorded with such notables as: Tito Puente, Gino Vanelli, The Yellow Jackets, Kenny Barron, Katherine Battle, and the band America.

Her second album "Bridges" was released in June of 1996 and it a more contemporary collection of great tunes from the 60's and 70's. She can be reached by email at aschwary@aol.com, or for booking by phone at 800-843-2628.

I bought this CD about ten years ago and somehow it got misplaced in a couple of moves. It recently resurfaced- and I played it again. You know how some music has its day and you put it away? This CD is timeless. I enjoyed it as much if not even more than the first time I listened to it. She's got an outstanding voice and the energy to back it up. Good work Alyssa, and good luck. If you read this and you don't have the cd, then buy it. Today.

You can't fake it when good talent comes together and plays live with a recorder running. We heard Ms Schwary playing for a fullhouse in a Portland nightclub 10 years ago, and the truth is out- this stunning woman has the voice, the musical confidence, and the charisma to lead an audience anywhere they want to go. My husband and I bought this cd for our collegues and highly recomment it to anyone who has (or needs) good taste in good jazz. Its got our five stars.
