Album Notes

Amadán is an Irish-Gaelic colloquialism for fool or idiot, and a Pacific Northwestern colloquialism for the Irish punkrock institution that attacks the senses from all six sides and routinely orchestrates chaos out of throngs of expectant fans. This band exists for each other and for these people-a crew as integral to the phenomenon as the rogues' gallery of musicianship itself. So climb aboard, batten the hatches, hold onto your pint, and watch this ship of fools rock the boat. Fists in the air and backs against the wall!

We're not Irish...
We're Americans. We come from musical backgrounds so diverse that we should never have come to play together, let alone blended as well as we do. Most of us are from the Pacific Northwest and all of us were raised on hard work. That's what our music is: hard work and fun with our mates. Our music is dedicated to every artist, every musician, every fisherman, sailor and soldier, every working class man and woman, every surfer, every skate punk, and every hooligan, punk rocker, and street rat to ever grace this earth with his or her presence. Cheers!

What People are Saying...
"Amadán certainly has a plate of madness to bring to the dinner table...one listen to the album, and you can hear many different musical influences blended together and served up perfectly...a great debut album that should be added to CD collections worldwide!"
- Brian Gillespie, Shite'N'Onions Magazine

"(Johnny Jump Up) is a favorite of mine, and I've heard so many different versions of it, but never like this. It's fast, anxious, full of energy; just what you might expect from a band that likens themselves to the Dropkick Murphys. And of course, once you get past the ragingly intense drinking song, you've got a killer jig."
- Marc Gunn, www.celticmp3s.com

"...it may be one of the albums of the year in my Celtic radio session!"
- Paolo Del Ry, Folk Music Road Radio, Pisa, Italy

"Three fan deep rows pressed against the bar snapping to plead for the many 'tenders attention. Amadan has done what few bands accomplish in Corvallis. They have pulled hundreds of normally reluctant Corvallis asses off their couches and into the beat. The bouncing fans at the Fox & Firkin finished off a well thought out 40 gallon water bucket quickly returning to continue their skyward fist pumping."
- The Regular Guy, www.corvallislive.com

"I really love it ! It's great! The mix of Celtic music and didgeridoo, congas, is really wonderful...I'm very proud to introduce your music to my listeners. I will start playing "Sons of liberty" next Friday in my show."
- Bernard Jean, Radio Sauvagine, Bordeaux, France

"Such wonderful, rockin' Celtic music! This will keep toes tapping in the week's to come."
- Kelly Clement, Celtic and Beyond, KTAO 101.9, Taos, NM

REVIEWS

Quality rockin'-out goodness

I found a copy of this cd in a parking lot. Only one song was listenable because the disc was so damaged. I loved it so much that I had to order it right away. Took me forever to find it, but now I finally have it! I love it!

Somber yet light-hearted? How'd they do it?
author: MJ Diaz
Jump and jig! Amadan takes what were somber & slow traditional songs, and pumps them with electricity (not to mention the swaying power of a didgeridoo). It's an excellent album to listen to, whether drinking a stout with friends or sipping soda in the sun.
