An empty canvas, a few primary colors, and a brush. With the simplest tools the painter creates a myriad of images, textures, and colors that reflect the world and the depth of imagination.
With their 'brush of fire', this potent three piece create their 'Aural Paintings'. Amalgam use the simple tools of rhythm, melody, harmony, and imagery to play with the listener's expectations, and lead him / her on a journey through new imaginings without losing the raw power born of simplicity.
Power, precision, imagination, and yes, tenacity, all combine to propel this group's vision forward to its audience. After all is said and done, That's What It Is -- Keith Simmonds

A different breed of music.
author: Robin Berry - Sid
Delicate Stretch of the Seems is a well crafted CD full of interesting melodies and music. In an age when alternative music has churned out one stale sound after another, Amalgam has steered clear of it. Intead this reviewer is reminded of the power Trio's of Rush or King's X, maybe even sprinkle in some Extreme. All this combines to make a CD worth owning.
