Album Notes

I feel lucky to be doing what I love, it's not quite how I envisioned things when I was a little girl with starry eyes, but it's an interesting journey.

My music is a mix of pop, southern-folk, country and rock. I don't mind that it's not so easy to define because my own taste in music is very eclectic, I believe it all goes in and comes out again in some form. Some artists people have suggested my voice and/or my music reminds them of are; Sheryl Crow, Brooke Fraser, The Corrs, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Carole King, Missy Higgins and Kasey Chambers.

I’ve always known I was a singer and songwriter– I just didn’t know there was a name for it until I grew up. Then I wasn’t sure if I was a real one. Singing came naturally to me and I just wanted to try everything – so I did - Musicals, Jazz, Pop, Rock, RnB, Country and Folk.

Midnight Sun is my first album and I’m so pleased with how it has turned out. It’s totally independent with a whole lot of my soul poured into it. I produced it with David Longo, my good friend and guitarist (multi-instrumentalist). It was a huge learning curve for both of us, a challenging and fun one.

I write songs about my experiences, the ups and downs of being a musician and Mother and how that fits into the world I live in today. Some songs are inspiring or philosophical and others are about relationships or things I read/see/hear about, be it Films, TV, books or articles in the paper, so that covers many areas of life. I just try and write honest songs from the heart with my own voice. In the end I hope people enjoy the music and relate to the songs.

I’ve been playing live around Sydney and am looking to venture further afield, to play in festivals and connect with a wider audience. That’s how I enjoy music so I hope I can do the same for others.
