Album Notes

Jessica Amaro is recipient of the 2006 Pop Album of the year for the Los Angeles Music Awards, and again, recipient of Pop Artist of the year at the 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, 2007 (the largest award show for indi artists!).

She has also received the Singer Songwriter award for the Hollywood FAME Awards 2007. Jessica performed at both Award shows in Hollywood, which took place at the world famous Whisky A-Go-Go in Hollywood (where many legendary musicians have performed) and at the famous Music Box Theater on Hollywood Blvd. In 2008, she was nominated once again for the L.A. Music awards and Hollywood Music Awards for best Latin artist.

Jessica first began taking dance lessons, which initiated her passion for music at age 5. She then moved onto piano lessons at age 6 and eventually took voice at age 14; although she had been singing on her own since childhood. Having participated in all school plays and talent shows, Jessica's passion for music expanded into the arts in general, where at the age of 14, she was taking numerous dramatic arts courses, which proved her to be a natural on stage.

Jessica studied with Ian Garratt (who taught Shania) along with other professional vocalists. She has also studied Hip Hop, Jazz and Latin dancing. Jessica taught piano and voice at the Ontario Conservatory of music and was a teacher at Danceline Studios teaching dance.

In December of 2000, Jessica released a promo CD, which has received excellent air time. In November 2001, she released her first complete CD in Portuguese, which has been playing in radio stations across the world including Canada, USA, Portugal, Cuba, France, Bermuda, Brazil, India and Australia, just to name a few. In California, Jessica Amaro has held a #1 spot on the Portuguese music charts with numerous songs for over a year. In April 2004, her album entitled "Sempre No Coração", in memory of her grandmother, was released and included hits in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

In 2006 Jessica Amaro released her long awaited album "ATTITUDE" which daybued her English music. "ATTITUDE" did so well that it won the Los Angeles Music Award for best Pop album of the year. The album features the collaboration of artists from Sony BMG, Canadian Idol, and Juno Award winning producers. All lyrics and music are original and are authored and composed by Jessica.

She has since released various award winning singles, and is currently recording with Grammy award winners in Los Angeles. She continues to compose and write her own material, along with collaborating with other great talent.

Jessica’s music has been featured on television and film. She has performed around the world including Europe, Cuba, Bermuda, Mexico, Dominican Republic, USA and Canada. Having performed for hundreds of thousands of people, her audience most recognizes her for her energetic presence on stage. Jessica is currently working with JAM Entertainment on releasing a new album in the very near future…
