Allan Y McDougall is a formidable creative talent. His eclectic mix of music and songs have been honed over the past three decades by a wide range of influences, from country-rock to ragtime, blues to Celtic guitar playing.
His playing reflects a keen interest in the songs and melodies of the Scottish and Irish traditions and his recorded and live repertoire displays a relevant approach, energetic and sympathetic as appropriate. He tackles each new tune with gusto - and his mind and fingers.
Although mainly a solo guitarist, Allan is the mandolin and bouzouki player with 'the Alans' folk group and was a member of 'The Levern Band'.
