Vertical Relationship

by Ameen Butler

The music that God has given me is meant to bring people, from all walks of life, into a closer relationship with the Father. Meaning that talking and fellowshipping with Jehovah is not a monologue but a dialogue and the relationship goes both ways!!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album was something that I had in my heart for a long time; however it wasn't until my wife had drawn a picture of what I was describing as an album cover and wrote down the songs, that I began to really believe that I could do it. I only had a concept and three songs, but after after our conversation, I began to get songs left and right that fit with the theme. I thank God for entrusting me with this great treasure but none of this was done alone, here are some of my main contributors: Shavonna (my wife , best friend and biiggest supporter), David Simmons aka Arsonist (Mastered the CD and Co-produced Dear Daddy), Donnel Sellow (Photographer for album cover and promo photos), Tim Waul (You hooked me up for the photoshoot, you are the cut master!!), Carmen Payne (For Helping find my graphic artist), Adrian Sims (Graphic artist for CD cover), my kids (for inspiring me), my parents, my grandparents, siblings, cousins, in-laws, uncles, aunts, The Watchmen Society (my peoples, enough said), Oasis / PDF fam (Where it all started), Faith Tabernacle fam (Ya'll are awesome), Osan fam (All of you mean so much to me), Restoration fam (Thank you for being there and taking care of my family while I was away), my current church family at TheLiving Word Christian Ministries (for supporting me and continuing to help me grow in Christ) and anyone else who has prayed, labored and been there for me!! I love you all tremendously!!!

Encouraged
I absolutely support your ministry Ameen. Let me know how I can help to promote your project. I have access to some radio personalities here in Charlotte!! I am not sure if you remember that Leroy and I prophesied that you would be an example to the body of Christ with your music ministry once you recognized and acknowledged a confidence that God indeed wants to use you!!! Man of God, you have a carte blanche card so to speak, use it!!

Lyrical Journey
Ameen Butler is a true trailblazer! His fresh, unique sound is not only an extraordinary inspiration but encourages each one of us to take a closer assessment of our relationship with God. The artist leads you in discovering that “vertical” and intimate relationship with Christ. Loaded with genuine emotion and anointing, Vertical Relationship takes you on a lyrical journey, kicking off with the radical foot stomping, hand clapping “Oh Lord You Are” and ending with the crunk “Celebrate”! Amongst my favorites are “How I Love to Praise You” and “I’m Here” a neo-soul spin on contemporary gospel. Ameen has a one of a kind sound that awakens your senses which is evident on “Dear Daddy” and “Love Song”. These songs demonstrate clearly that Ameen is more than a skillful songwriter, but also a worshiper at heart. Vertical Relationship will challenge you to grow closer to the Lord, and will lead you in discovering God’s destiny and purpose for your life. For me personally, it reiterated what an AWESOME privilege it is to have a God that we can so freely and uninhibitedly commune with.

Expect the Unexpected
This debut project by Ameen Butler is sure to take you into His presence in a way many don’t. You can expect the unexpected; meaning unlike most projects that focus on celebration, praise and worship, this project will have you having a serious conversation with yourself about your Vertical Relationship with the King of Kings. Ameen takes you into his personal prayers as he seeks the face of God to draw on His strength to make it in these last days. You can also expect to hear a different sound. Some of my favorite are “Dear Daddy”, “Love Song (I Love You)”, “None of Me”, and “Celebrate”.

An authentic voice among echos
Great Debut Album! I appreciate the variety of Praise, Worship and Celebration. Ameen takes the listener on a musical journey combining and exploring different genres. A powerful voice with an expanded range, his authenticity comes through without hesitation. Unlike many others who may sing contemporary gosgel music. You can sense that his vertical relationship is real!
