Album Notes

US Navy veteran Bob Rotondo was so moved on 9/11 that he composed "Home of the Brave" shortly after the tragedy as he was about to turn in for the night. Lyric and melody came from wherever musical inspiration lives and produced almost a finished song in minutes. Thinking this must me "someone else's song" Bob didn't even bother to get out of bed and write it down. Amazingly the next morning the whole song came back almost word for word! A short time later "These Colors Are Mine " was written and American Hawk had two patriotic songs to build an album around. The CD is frosted with the pedal steel guitar work of the great Gordon Wells!
