Album Notes

Over the years San Francisco's AM Magic has generated an organic, imaginative, and sturdy style of melodic indie pop--a sound that bears the hazy brightness of hard-fought confidence. With songwriting duties split between Karma Tsocheff and Mike Alexis, images of distant boats, red-eye flights, Barcelona, and uncertainty crop up within their intertwined guitars and Doug Saenz's muted trumpets and jazz-inspired drumming.

AM Magic's debut Floats is eleven songs in 35 minutes (the absolute perfect length for an album, btw.) It's melodic and textured, and it has lyrics that at times tell stories and at others paint pictures. Special Guest the Bassturd played keys on a few; Doug Saenz played trumpet; there's even some handclaps and sleigh bells for good measure. Artwork was done by the amazing graphic artist Todd Bratrud and the CD itself comes with beautiful custom silkscreened packaging. All this for 5 bucks--a total bargain.

AM Magic

When I younger and skating regularly, I was influenced by the Consolidated crew especially Karma. So when I found out about a band he was with, I bought the record. I find it interesting to see another side of someone that I haven't before. So Buy it, It's totally worth the $5. My girlfriends favorite song on the cd is Millions of Stars and I also agree. So the end result, ypu won't be disapointed. Oh yeah it's a good album for the 30+ crowd to listen and skate to.
