Amoeba Crunch creates music that might be described as forestronic. Think of ambient dub mixed with folk rock, field recordings, and hummable hooks. Think of experimental, electro-acoustic noodling tossed into liquid nitrogen and flash frozen into concise pop structures. Think background music that likes to crash into the foreground.

Amoeba Crunch is the soundtrack to what you'd rather be doing. It's the soundtrack to a day spent sitting and watching at what others consider a waypoint. It's the soundtrack to a nonexistent short film featuring a bookie, a pastry chef, and the Deputy Secretary of Weights and Measures carrying a large burlap sack through the woods.

Amoeba represents ambient qualities; curves and segues, soft textures and the embrace of the subtle. Crunch represents edginess, experimentation, and the recognition of the power of dissonance and volume. So Amoeba, yet Crunch.

Sixteen Worlds brings you the beauty of forgotten places and unobserved events. It is the sound of rituals that signify nothing, the sound of finding things that were never lost, and the sound of thirty-two angry monkeys fighting over a drum kit.

If this album could talk (it is mostly instrumental), it would tell you about how much it digs bands where the members swap instruments and are only too happy to have a steel drum on stage. It would tell you about how the rise in urban exploration is rooted in the decline of interactive fiction. It would argue in favor of specifying both east and west poles. It would relentlessly harangue NASA for less low Earth orbit and more outer planets. It would recommend that you read House of Leaves but only the parts about the house. And when it thought no one was listening, it would look around furtively, chew its fingernails and mutter something uncomplimentary about American politics.

Sixteen Worlds: It sounds good with the volume way up, way down, or smack in the middle. It is chock full of easter eggs, hidden messages, and metahumor to satisfy the deep entertainment demands of today's jacked in hipster know-it-all, yet has been thoroughly tested and approved by toddlers just looking for a good tune.
