Album Notes

The Amorphous Band is the project of guitarist/producer Chris O'Neill. The band consists of vocalist Cindy Kaza, fretless bassist Keith Foley, drummer Mike Walsh and keyboardist Dan Shure along with O'Neill on electric guitars and effects. Over the last three years, the Amorphous Band has shared the stage with acts such as Robert Cray, John Hiatt, Soulive, The New Deal, Johnny A., Tim Reynolds, Seth Yacavone Band, Benevento/Russo duo, the Bomb Squad and others. Playing a New-England wide circuit and looking to expand outward, the Amorphous Band released Primeordia in November of 2003 and was given many outstanding reviews in New England publications. Martin England, writing for Showcase Magazine said: "Primeordia is a steamroller of funk, jazz and jam, with hairpin musicianship and the best female singer this side of Gwen Stefani..." Bill Huffman, writing for Jam Magazine simply stated: "This is an act to completely sink into." Primeordia features eleven tracks, four of which are instrumental and feature the band rolling through several styles while bending the groove under and over complex passages and smooth transitions. Vocalist Cindy Kaza makes her recording debut with seven tracks of high-powered yet often sultry vocals and a writing credit as well for "Settle Down."
