"The wolf that eats little red riding hood" is the title that my daughter Yael gave to this short electronic composition. It consists entirely of recorded mouth sounds that were transformed electronically.
Forthepiano is a short piece for piano solo. It was conceived as an exercise in intuitive composition. I recorded this piece in one take without any preconceived notion about what I am going to play. I used a midi piano to record directly to my computer. I then worked on it for about two month's analyzing the recording to find it's internal logic and correcting things that I thought were contradictive to this internal logic. I kept the "corrections" to the minimum I thought necessary.
Commissioned by the Israeli Council for the Arts. "Ru'akh" in Hebrew literally means "wind". Ru'akh Quintet was composed for the New Israeli Woodwind Quintet and premiered by them in March 1995 at the Henry Crown Concert Hall in Jerusalem during a concert that was broadcast live by the Voice of Music radio station. Since I know the members of this quintet in person I wanted the piece to feature the individual character of each of the members of the quintet. The piece is built of six sections, five of which are instrumental solos, one for each member of the group, while the others are accompanying. The remaining section acts as a middle section were all are playing together on an equal basis.
Revadim ('strata') is a work that I wrote for the Musica Nova Consort. The composition begins and ends with a single sounding E pitch and the whole work is evolved around this note. Different modern playing techniques are required from the musicians throughout the composition. This piece is influenced by the micro polyphonic works of Gyorgy Ligeti.
Trio for Flute, Viola and Harp is a 3 movement composition in sonata form. The work was premiered at the Jerusalem Music Center by Liat Elkana, Ferenc Gabor and Julia Sverdlov in a concert that was broadcast live by the Voice of Music radio station.

What fun are rules if you can't break or at least stretch them? These haunting and evocative avant garde compositions for traditional orchestral instruments, without the traditional boundaries, carry the imagination and the senses into territory that deserves more probing and exploration. If you're "maxed out" with Mozart, this may just be what you're missing.
