Album Notes

Like a half-starved kid in a candy store, Easily Amused is voraciously ripping through the Philadelphia music scene. With infectious songs, honest lyrics, and enough straight-up musical talent and ability to kill a horse, EA has become known for their energetic and unrelenting rock shows. If you're looking for a pop rock band reminiscent of Weezer, Barenaked Ladies, and (insert any given pop punk band here), with a live show consisting of searing guitar solos, sick four-part harmonies, and 5 all around nice guys, Easily Amused is the way to go.

Why this name?
It's just the simple truth.

Would you still sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely!!!

Band History:
Kevin Laibson:
Bass player and lead singer of the band, Kevin Laibson wishes he had a nickel for every time someone said "Man, with your voice, you should be in Rent." However, after 12 years of musical theater and opera accompanied by intense vocal training, Kevin's using his powerful voice for good and not evil in Easily Amused. Once forced from guitar to bass by bandmates Maxwell and G, he fell in love with the instrument. Notoriously the geek of the band, Kevin's lyrics are honest, sometimes funny, and often laden with literary reference, but always sung with the die-hard conviction of a reluctant pop-punk.

Greg Frey:
Born in to a very musical family, Frey's talents can be traced back to the stirring rendition of the Can-Can, sung by his mother on his answering machine growing up. Greg, or simply "G," has mastered such instruments as the bass (upright and electric), cello, piano, drum kit, banjo, mandolin, and, of course, the guitar. His ability to sight-read and his blessing of perfect pitch make him an all-star player that EA is lucky to have. G is, without question, the brains behind the band, bringing a keen sense of musicality and a perfect ear to boot.

Ryan Maxwell:
Also born into a musical family, with his brother a professional percussionist/recording engineer, and his parents having met during an Off-Broadway production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," Maxwell started playing piano at 4 years old, trumpet at 10, and guitar at 12. Adding to that a few years of percussion training, Maxwell is always striving to achieve more than the next guy. Still just twenty-one years old, this kid's got nowhere to go but up. Maxwell and G have been playing in bands together since the pilgrims first set foot in this wonderful country, creating an almost brotherly on-stage and in-studio connection.

Matt O'Malley:
The newest member to the Easily Amused team, Matt provides the right ingredients to take these guys to the next level. His funky bass riffs are only complimented by his rockin' mohawk. No doubt the nicest member of Easily Amused, Matt will definitely be getting the most ass. His taste in music adds a new flavor that EA has not yet experienced.

Doug Deets:
This mo-fo is the baddest ass mo-fo in all of the land. Just come out and see a show. He's not on this album but he is no doubt the most talented musician out of the group (and they're all pretty talented). Capable of every variation on every different style, Douggy keeps these kids in check and can rock like no other.

REVIEWS

Fun and flirty

I bought this CD on a whim and with no idea what to expect, and I got an awesome surprise. The lead singer sounds a lot like Anthony Rapp, and the vocals remind me of old school New Found Glory except better, and much funnier. The cover of I TOuch Myself is fantastic, but my favorite track is Morning Person. The CD is on repeat in my car and will likely stay there for months.

A great Punk Rock Band
author: Daniel Hellerman
This cd is one of a kind, its a journey through the mind of Kevin Laibson lead singer and bass palyer and I must say I enjoyed the trip immensly. From his sly references to cult flicks for example "Tyler Durden" and fight club, excite bike, and numerious other references proved for witty good non stop rock. A+++

Finally, a new sound!

This CD "aint bad". A compilation of a bunch of great songs, sung by an incredible lead vocal talent, make it worth buying for sure. These guys are great musicians and the lyrics include references to books and shows we've all seen but no other artist would ever think to include in a song. Buy it.
