Album Notes

The best description of Amusia's sound so far and it came from the incredible designer, Aaron Belyea of Alphabet Arm. He wrote "excellent songs, your voice is great, some amazing guitar sounds, I dug it. kept thinking the sundays met the smiths who met 10,000 maniacs who met ida who then moved to Boston. incidentally, that is a compliment." Works for me!

Nashville's Ruth Peterson joins with New England brothers Matt & Todd Russell to form Boston's amusia, a powerhouse of driving acoustic guitars and dynamic grooves underneath lush, emotional vocals.

In 2002 Amusia released their Never Go EP to critical acclaim:

"Intelligent rock with an acoustic edge"- Onstage Magazine.

"Emotion pours from the speakers on every song. The band shows a very high level of songcraft that is rare, Amusia has the goods.' - BandRadio

Never Go was recorded at Q Division in Somerville, MA, mixed and engineered by Tom Polce (of Buffalo Tom, Letters to Cleo, Loveless), produced by drummer Matt Russell & Amusia.

Amusia finished their new full length CD 'Way Back Down' (May 2005 release) and continues to perform live in Boston and New York.

These are the songs of my life
author: Lea O'Donnell
Not to be girlie, but this CD really talks to me as a mature woman. I am so sick of all the pre-pubescent shitpop out there. This CD is emotionally deep without being whiney -- not an easy task, I'm sure. Ruth and the gang aren't afraid to rock out, but they also know when when not to. This is the best band in Boston right now. Period.

These guys are way too good!
author: Rob Torres
I met Ruth and Todd a couple years back (sold them a Powebook) and they dropped their CD on me. I have always been a fan of the Boston Female Lead sound (Til Tueday, Throwing Muses, Tribe etc) and they are just right on top of it all. Buy this disk, go see them play and look for them as they almost surely will be HUGE someday...
