Amy's eclectic song writing style is reminicent of the 70's classic rock bands. It's a little like Melissa Etheridge meets Elton John. Her keyboard playing is uncomplicated but driving and melodically clear. Her bluesy growl will make you grin.

Album Notes

Lifetime Cincinnati resident, Amy Annette, has spent most of her life sharing the stage as a local performer. The release of her first solo original CD "Starting Over" represents Amy Annette's transition from a long time cover band member to a full fledged solo artist, singer, songwriter and musician.

Amy Annette will be performing at her CD Release Party held at Rosie's Tavern, 643 Bakewell St, in Covington, KY on Saturday, August 28th, 2004 with the show beginning at 9 p.m. Earlier this year she left the shared limelight of performing with cover bands in the local music scene to undertake writing and recording her debut solo CD.

Amy Annette has been performing in cover bands since the 80's. She graduated from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, as did her father, Richard Wardwell, who also still plays locally. As a previous winner of the Ohio's Musical Family of the Year award, she has followed into the family business of music. Her capabilities as a solo performer appeal to club owners and wedding parties whose space and budget may be modest, but the desire for live music is great. Though she has enjoyed success as a group player, her vocal style and keyboard abilities do stand out and will assuredly bring her continued success on her own.

Long time owner of Rosie's Tavern, Dianne says, "I'm glad she has gone solo. I've seen Amy perform many times with a band, but by herself, she really shines. Her passion for music really reaches out to the audience. I can't wait to hear her new stuff."

Joe Price, an arranger/composer who works with the Cincinnati Symphony says "Amy's CD, Starting Over, really showcases her eclectic song writing style. It's a little like Melissa Etheridge meets Elton John. Her keyboard playing is uncomplicated but driving and melodically clear. Her vocals are very distinct. She has a bluesy growl that will make you grin and she can lay down a smooth, soulful melody that you can't help but hum the rest of the day. Imagine Janis Joplin meets Carole King."

Continuing the tradition of music, Amy has made her family and Cincinnati proud. As a solo performer, she has come full circle from an apprentice, to leader, to musician and recording artist. You will find Amy playing locally, but she is always interested in performing for new people and places. While most musicians release a CD early in their careers, she's now found she has something to say. "Starting Over" says it all. Call Amy at 513-752-8466 or visit the web site at www.amyannette.com.

Introducing,

Amy Annette

Amy Annette is an Ohio Valley singer, musician and songwriter. Born in Cincinnati, she was raised in a musical family and began playing professionally at age twelve with her parent's musical group. Their numerous performances were rewarded when their family band was named Ohio's Musical Family of the Year by the American Federation of Musicians. Amy then attended the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, earning her Bachelor's degree. Amy is principally a vocalist and keyboard player, but because of her extensive musical training, she is competent on several instruments, as well as possessing powerful vocal abilities.

She has always been musically active. In the early 80's, Amy sang and played with local bands like the Buddy Rogers Big Band, Sundown and Musical Impass, while attending the College-Conservatory of Music. The 90's brought more gigs and Amy formed a cover band of her own called KNYGHT BLYNDE with her then bass player husband. The husband and the band didn't last, but music and performing have always remained a constant in her life.

The end of the 90's brought music technology to a fore front. The use of musical sequencing equipment has catapulted the possibilities for single musicians or small bands to enhance the full sound experience of live music. Amy's knowledge of sequence assisted live performances is amazing and she now utilizes this technology in her performances.

Although she has performed cover tunes most of her life, Amy Annette also demonstrates talent in original music composition. She is now releasing her very first original CD called "Starting Over". Her new CD will take you on a journey of love, humor, passion and sorrow. Influenced by the likes of Melissa Etheridge and Elton John, her hard-hitting rock and intensely personal love songs will leave you wanting more.

Amy has also recorded background vocals for several Christian rock/pop CD's. Her expertise of musical sequencing has made her in high demand among other professional musicians. Her sequences have been used for church services, special events, as well as numerous studio recordings.

Since the 2000's have arrived, Amy still occasionally performs with her family band. She has played extensively with the cover band FanDango, but has now gone solo. A dynamic performer, Amy Annette's provocative lyrics and sultry, smokey vocals have made her an audience hit! Her passion for music reaches out and engages the audience like no other performer. Look for her playing locally. Amy's musical abilities, stage presence and professionalism are a MUST for your next musical event! For more info: www.amyannette.com 513.752.8466

Awesome talent with a vocal range that is simply inspiring. Was hooked on her musical and vocal talents from the first time I heard her music. She's a real talent to see in person as well and puts on a heck of a show with the audience being entertained and kept in the spotlight as much as she gets into entertaining the audience and being in the spotlight. She truly enjoys what she does and it shows, song after song.
