Album Notes

Hey Friend,

Thanks for your interest.

- This is the 5th album I made. It was released in 2004.

- I think I was grappling with my small-town Iowa roots quite a bit here. None of the characters are exactly me, and all of them are.

- I had a good time writing in the voice of a missionary (in the song "Amazon"), and then leaving him stranded on a riverbank awaiting his fate.

- "Little Bird" was written after an actual real live little bird woke me up at 5 in the morning, doing its birdie thing. I went out for a walk and read a sign in the park that said a song sparrow might sing his song several thousand times in one day. I figured I better get home and get to work.

Thank you for listening.

- Amy

Musicians include:

Mason Tuttle - guitar, mandolin, bass, vocals,
Michael Blessing - drums
Elie Nuno - fiddle
Jen Slayden - cello

and i think i'm forgetting someone. sorry.

If you like the music samples you will REALLY REALLY like the CD. Great songwriting, musicians, and an excellent quality recording. I liked this CD from the first note to the end the first time I listened to it. It has a quality of sounding fresh but familiar all at once. The songs range from simple and cheerful to more complex and moody which keeps it interesting all the way through. Outstanding artist and CD. So glad I found them.

The songs are consistent and all very easay to listen to, not a dud in the bunch. I think Amy is on her way to an important and well deserved place in this business. Her words are meaningful, at times even haunting, and easy to understand.

CD Baby made it easy for me to find what I was looking for and it arrived quickly and in good shape. I love the music. Take it with me everywhere I go. It's a mature work from Amy Martin, beautiful and soulful. I'm listening to it as I write my first novel about Montana.

Haunting and beautiful sound.

I love the soaring sound and the words to match in the signature "Raven's Wings." "Born in the Country" speaks to me as a parent, and I like the lilt in "Raspberry Vine." Great words in all the songs -- they're beautiful. Bravo!!
