An almost-native of Canby, Oregon, Amy has been writing songs since the age of 14, but will never let you hear those early ones. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1998 with a degree in Christian Education and Ministry, and has since put it to good use as a residential group home counselor, a professional scrapbooker, a children's/youth/music minister in France, an instructional assistant, an administrative assistant, and a church planter (she suspects she has some kind of Career A.D.D., but has never been officially diagnosed).
She currently leads worship for Two Rivers Church in Milwaukie, OR (pretty much the greatest church on the planet), and spends her time amusing/confusing the congregation with her anecdotes, planning trips back to France in her head, smothering her niece and nephews with kisses, laughing hysterically with her roommate Andrea, referring to her new guitar as if it were a man, and seeking to honor Jesus Christ in and above all things.
Amy desires to use her songs first and foremost as a means of making much of GOD and what He's done, and also to encourage believers in their walk with GOD and to recommend & endear Christ to those who don't know Him yet. Her songs are largely influenced/inspired by the work of Steven Curtis Chapman and David Wilcox, the writings and teachings of Dr. John Piper, Rev. Jim Lincoln, C.S. Lewis, and Amy Carmichael, her experience as a worship leader, her time living in France, and her day-to-day journey of life by faith.
Her third studio project, Live In The Tension, was released July 16, 2006, and is now available for your listening pleasure. Thom Blair lent his talents as guitarist and producer, greatly enhancing these 10 new original songs penned by Amy over the past couple years since her last CD, Becoming Less. The new CD also features drummer Jeff Warren, bass player Butch Kent, background vocalist Emily Blair, pianist Rob Classen, and guests Dan Zollner on mandolin and the worship band from Two Rivers Church (Adam Stewart, David Brown, Nick Classen, and AJ Howard).

A Very Refreshing Worship Music CD
author: Clinton Lindgren
This is a very refreshing worship music CD. The instramentation, which is mostly acoustic, is the perfect accompaniment to Amy's lyrics and great vocals. The CD includes some wonderful upbeat worship songs like "You are Excellent" and "Righteousness", as well as some more reflective, quiet songs like "Return Unto Thy Rest" and "Toward the Light". This CD has been a blessing to me, and I would highly recommend it!
