ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Amy has been singing and writing all of her life, but growing up in farm country with neighbors miles away made it hard to get formal training. Sometimes things happen for a reason though, and after moving to Las Vegas she auditioned and became a member of the Grammy Award Winning Choir, The Saints Unified Voices. Through her membership in the choir she became good friends with John Fluker, the acclaimed and highly talented vocal coach, arranger, and composer. Amy loved the hymns beloved by Christians everywhere, but had very original and distinct ideas about giving new life to some of these old hymns. She shared some of her arrangements with John Fluker. He embraced the concept, and together they created the album. All the songs on this album were hand-picked by Amy, and brought to life with new rhythms, words, and sometimes even new melodies. There is something in this collection for everyone, whether you like the throw-back sound of the 30's, modern R&B, or even country music. These are the hymns like you've never heard them before.

a great one to share!
from the very first track, the title track "what i know" is, Jesus loves me, Harmon has you. and leaves you at "there is a green hill far away" haunting out the last track.

with characters i'm familiar with making appearances, most prominent John Fluker on several tracks, including one of my favorites of the CD, "I Stand all Amazed" & Jay Young, blends well with Harmon in on "More Savior like Thee".

i stand amazed at the spirit with which Harmon delivers each track and the diversity of each song...what amazing choices she has made for this album. i can hear Norah Jones here, a little Eva Cassidy, some Anita Baker sounds & a spout of Aretha in this album. Harmon has soul, for sure.

this is a Holiday favorite of mine..even though it is not a Christmas album, it is the Savior and it will be a stocking stuffer for many of my friends. it has inspired me and cemented a journey in faith.

make this your holiday give away this year and all throughout the year...you will be so proud to share Amy Harmon & "what she knows" with your whole world.

AMAZINGLY ADDICTING!
I can't get enough of this fabulous CD! I play it over and over! The familiar hymns are a joy to listen to because of their fresh and touching arrangements! AMY and JOHN are the BEST and I can't wait to hear what's next! Thanks for this soul-touching collection!

Outstanding!
From beginning to end, your message combined with voice and the holy spirit is overwhelmingly tangible. It is truly impossible to sit through this album, "thats just it," it cant be sat through. If your head isn't bobbing, foot tapping, or body swaying, then your lifting holy hands or shouting hallelua!, but some how; a true believer in christ has to acknowledge his presence! Outstanding job!

Holy WOW!
I am an Amy Harmon addict I think!! This music settles in my soul like no other... Amy's voice even helps calm me while I am in the car with 4 roudy kids - I can just crank up these hymns, sing along, and 'calm my troubled heart'. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!

Bridge to Heaven
I just bought this CD and listened it in my car on the way home. What an unbelievable experience. I've never heard better "out of the box" hymn arrangements. They were not only pleasant to listen to, they took my spirit into flight and bridged the gap between me and heaven. Track 1 was the prefect theme..."What I kknow." Totally out of the box on track 2...awesome! Who knew that was a closet blues tune? Awesome duet on with John Fluker on "Stand All Amazed" and Jay Young on "More Holiness..." Tracks 4 and 5 are two of my favorite hymns and Amy brought such a fresh feel to them. I felt waves of warm fuzzies and goosebumps and laughing out loud and toe tapping fun through the entire CD, interrupted with a real tear jerker (for the missionary minded) in "I'll Go..." I had to pull over. I couldn't see the road through the tears. Amy nailed the spirit of that hymn like none other. Amy has such a pleasant, engaging, yet powerful and sometimes edgy voice. What she and John and Jay and all the others did was absolutely stupendous. This will definitely have an impact. The ripples that started from her heart and came through her voice will go on forever in the hearts of whoever gets the honor of listening to these heavenly offerings.

Did I gush too much? Sorry. That's where you took me. I couldn't wait to tell you. And I can't wait to share with others. I may be back to you for more CD's.

Refreshing
Harmon has such an ecclectic collection of styles all rolled up into one very capable package. I loved this CD from the first to the last. I especially liked the life in "Sunshine in my soul" and "Count your many blessings". And the Duets are AMAZING. I know that both John Fluker and Jay Young have their own projects, but the fusion of Harmon's voice with these men is perfect. Harmon matches tone, emotion, and inflection so well with them that they seem to sing with one heart. Marvelous!!!! I bought 4 copies so I could share them with friends. I wish you much success.

Even God Smiled on This One
Well, I have to admit that I was indeed pleasantly surprised to hear this release! I was taken away instantly by the first track. The simple, yet powerful song full of conviction by a humble servant and follower of Christ! I was even more impressed that Amy not only sings but wrote this piece. BEAUTIFUL and all I can say is AMEN AND BRAVO! Bravo! Bravo! I love the variety of music styles and being one who savors flava.... well Amy has much FLAVA in her rendition of otherwise very traditional church hymns. My personal favorite is track #5 Sunshine In My Soul which carries with it the signature of co-producer John Fluker whom I adore! This speaks volumes because I dont care for the traditional hymn itself but Amy has converted me to be a lover of the words and melody. If this were a record, I am sure there would be no more grooves on it! I PLAY IT THAT MUCH! The most poignant track for me is the last one. Green Hill Far Away which carries such personal meaning to me. It captures you and transports you to the time when Christ atoned for us. Very chilling and beautifully arranged and performed. KUDOS Amy.... THIS ONE hardly sounds like a debut to me. To finish off my review, I would love to say that Amy's duet with Jay Young, also a new CD Baby Artist, is one that makes you fall in love with the idea that the Lord can make us better people. GO GET SEVERAL COPIES OF THIS! NOW!

rips me up
This woman's voice rips me up inside - I have listened to it over and over. When you have to pull over to wipe your eyes and get control of yourself, you know that your listening to somebody do more than just sing - She just pours her heart out.

Truly Inspiring
I received this CD right before leaving on a 5 hour road trip. I knew it would be good, but it wound up being the only thing I listened to for the entire 5 hours. My only problem comes when I try and decide which song is my favorite. It changes several times each listen. Amy's vocals are just exceptional. Both duets (one with John Fluker, one with Jay Young) are equally incredible. Do not pass up the chance to own this great CD. FANTASTIC!!

WOW!!!! Should be touring
I love Amy's vocals, pure magic. I love how she sang new arrangements of some old songs. It'll be hard to listen to them any other way now on. She colored them with the depth and soul of her voice. "What I Know" speaks so beautifully to the heart. I love the versatilty in her voice from song to song. THIS IS A MUST HAVE ALBUM. Anyone who loves real talent that you hear comes from the will love this.
