Album Notes

This charming and uplifting CD is Amy Syd's second release. It includes 12 original songs with deeply moving, personal lyrics and heart-warming melodies. It's an eclectic mix - from fully-arranged pop ballads to simple acoustic piano and guitar songs - Amy establishes her own genre which she likes to call Theatrical Pop. Her music would definitely be at home on a Broadway stage; however, her songs would also make great cover songs for many of today's established artists - in the pop/A/C to cabaret and perhaps even country genres.

The basic theme of the album is how to embrace life. The title song, "An Armful Of Flowers", was written when her brother-in-law died of cancer and answers the question, "How do people go on after losing a loved one?" Other favorites include "Learning To Let Go" about letting go of children as they grow up; "Forgotten To Remember" which is about breaking out of the habit of criticizing the people we love; and "All I Can Think Of Is You", a duet about that quiet intimate place inside two people where they are always together.

You could say all the songs on this album are duets, for the piano and guitar sing with her while Amy Syd tells her stories with words that paint pictures and music that takes up residence in your soul. Each song has something special to say, and says it in a beautiful way.

QUOTES: "...the true meaning of contemporary. Her simple piano tunes evoke thoughts of life and love and leave you feeling just plain good inside...a breath of fresh air."
