why can't all music be this uplifting?!
author: Natacha Pavlov
this cd is a must-have for anyone who appreciates soothing sounds on any given day. there is a lot of bad music out there, but compilations such as this one make me feel like all is not lost after all... the introductory song starts out nice and soothing, offering you "directions" for your journey [reminiscent of enigma works]. the beats then quickly pick up in "invoking the muse," and the rest is a just a joyful mix of up-tempo and relaxing sounds following one another. what is amazing about this cd is the many different styles of music incorporated into it. for example, "feast of silence" and "ancient reflections" are two tracks that, although they can definitely be linked to the Eastern world, also invokes images of Southern America, such as Peru and native peoples [at least to me =)]. These songs have great beats and some guitars in it that just make your imagination run wild, and the beauty of it is that it varies from person to person. i absolutely adore "roots of awakening" because of its beat and whole sound in general; it's one of my favorite up-tempo tracks on the cd. "the heartbeat" definitely reminds me more of Arabic music, which i'm a big fan of as well. for my "hardcore" yoga session, i turn on my favorite down-tempo track on the cd: "bija chakra meditation."
all in all, no matter what your musical tastes, due to its diversity, you are bound to find something you enjoy here. i will enjoy this cd until their next one comes out, which should be anytime soon! [i am SO impatient!! grrrr].
p.s. Natacha <3s cdbaby. now can i have a satin pillow? =0]
