Anaïs St. John

by Anaïs St. John

This CD is the realization of what I am musically. It is a snapshot in time that melds a Jazz heritage from my father, Marion Brown, with my early days singing in the church choir. It joins my time singing opera, cabaret and years of club gigs.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
If you're reading this, it means you have an interest in my music, so first, and foremost, I thank you, for your support. What you are holding in your hand is the realizations of what I am musically. It is a snapshot in time that melds a Jazz heritage from my father, Marion Brown, with my early days singing in the church choir. It joins my time singing opera, performances on cabaret stages, and years of club gigs, to the incarnation you now hear on this CD. I have always considered myself as much a performer, as a singer. So, if you have seen me live, I hope this reminds you of a wonderful time we spent together. If you are just hearing my voice for the first time, I hope it inspires you to come to one of my shows and enjoy the full experience of what I am as an entertainer. There are many people I would like to thank for their contributions. First of all, this CD would not have been possible without the love, advice and support of my husband, Marco. I would also like to thank my band. I have been blessed to be able to work with some of the best musicians in a city whose character is defined by music. The musical collaboration I share with them is a constant challenge and joy. I owe a huge than you to Trinity Episcopal School for awarding me with the Iona Richardson Teacher of the Year Grant, which helped fund some of this effort. Finally, I would like to thank my mother for instilling in me the desire to achieve.
