AnAkA (Anna-Kuh) is a Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock band from Brooklyn, New York, USA, whose musical influences are Alice In Chains, Black Label Society, Metallica, Corrosion Of Conformity, Down, Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Devildriver, Mudvayne and Black Sabbath, etc. AnAkA was originally formed in 2000 but has quickly established a fan base all over the world! AnAkA has performed and has also headlined historic and world famous NYC and NJ venues such as Irving Plaza, Blender Theatre, Warsaw, Starland Ballroom, The Knitting Factory, CBGB, Don Hill's, The Continental, L'Amour, Count Basie Theatre, etc. AnAkA can be described as a powerful live band, which can move their audience sonically, physically, and even psychologically.

AnAkA’s 2004 release, "Rust & Jade," which is the bands second studio album, was Produced and Engineered by Jerry Farley, an individual who has worked with major national acts such as Lamb of God, Demon Hunter, Breaking Benjamin, Ill Nino and Candiria, etc. "Rust & Jade" was Mastered by Dan Korneff, another very talented Producer/ Engineer that helped Produce Ill Nino, "Confession" and also Engineered and Mixed that album. The members of AnAkA strongly believe that "Rust & Jade" will show the rest of the music world what AnAkA is truly all about. AnAkA has also signed with a New York City based label called Godsend Records.

    I listen to rust&jade a couple times a week it is KICKS ASS. Some of the old bands could take lesson on how to perform some basic HARD ROCK/HEAVY METAL music again. THANK YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.>

    this is a good cd.they give you a great metal edge to some songs and can kick it back with a cool rock sound the other songs.There was only one song i did not like and that was song 10 Gather the ash,it seemed out of place with the rest of the cd, and with a amazing singing voice like Jimmy has you do not need to scream.over all i would recomend this cd,and i look forward to more music from them

    This album is AMAZING ... from Jimmy Pallis' vocals to the lyrics to the monster guitar riffs and the monster song writing of Peter Pallis to the beefy beats of Tony Heredia and kick as bass tones of Karl Andreassen ... from front to back this is a classic album. The best music I have heard in a very very very long time and the best band I have heard in a very very very long time. Everyone needs a copy of RUST & JADE! I love this CD!

    Hey I just got through the Rust and Jade album. I gotta say awesome album kept me into it. Every track was great. Loved how you opened with Wither On The Vine which is one of my favorites. Ending with Gather The Ash was great since its the most different track on the album. Some of my other favorites were Rust and Jade, Nevermore and All I've Known (because Alice in Chains rocked) Well I'll see you guys Friday at The Continental. Look forwarded to good music and booze haha

AnAkA is the best band in the world that has yet to be signed to a major record label ... what the hell are these labels waiting for!!!     THIS ALBUM KICKS ASS! ROCK ON GUYS! It's funny how a little mistake can lead to such a thing as you! What started out as a friend's name search, ended up in one of my new fave's for underground hard rock/heavy metal bands! I love Shine? it rocks! And The Days Went South! Nice Tribute! Awesome lyrics too! I guess that shout goes out to Peter? Yeah.Great Drumming, coming from a fellow drummer as well. I'm now even more inclined to find a well priced double bass pedal.     Hey, theres so much to say about the album. I'll break it up by category ha. Audio Quality/CD Layout - Everything is so crisp and sharp, the guitar tone is clean and full, drums sound really powerful, and i'm especially impressed with Jimmy Pallis' vocal work very mature and articulate... Vocals - The harmonies are real clear, balanced and majestic sounding which I think is just how vocal harmonies need to be, I'm impressed with Jimmys ability to adapt Layne Staley's stylistics on All I've Known and I think on the heavier songs, specifically Wither On The Vine he has a tinge of Dave Mustaine. Guitar/Songwriting - I think the guitars/songwriting [by Peter Pallis] are what really shine about this album, everything works well together but the particularly impressive songwriting really put this album out so well. The layers of parts are just right, the volumes are perfect so each part comes across very coherent and understandable, no ideas are lost in the mix which is really good. Drums - I think it goes without saying how strong Tony Heredia is, and what I particularly like is that he can lay down the drive just right and still groove. Alot of Metal drummers are all chops and drilling and no feeling or flow and he does it right hes not just a DB pedal and fast hands the sticks are like an extension of his arms, thats how I perceived the drumming. Bass - Since the bass is the least obvious instrument in the mix theres less to say about it, and although Karl Andreassen seems softspoken in demeanor and alittle musically his influence on the power and UMPH of the music is still there. Tracks - I think the arrangement of the tracks on the CD is good, they flow into eachother just right ... but as far as stand out tracks I'd say Alone, Nevermore and The Days Went South as far as melodic and particularly well written. For kick your ass heavy Wither On The Vine and Misery's Child are the be all and end all. Fav. moment --- The end of Alone (all the keyboards and such). Overall Score: (yea sounds corny but oh well) - 9 out of 10 - I would say 10, but a perfect album never existed ( except maybe Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime ) and having a perfect album isnt something I would stive for cause you always want to meaningfully perpetuate your expression through music. *Kudos to how the actual CD looks, the CD looking like a record won me over right away*

What an amazing musical compilation. This is hard rock/heavy metal at this highest form ... Bklyn metal has been suffering for a long time ...     I am so happy to see that this genre of music has finally found its saviour ... this music is born from the insperation of bands such as the great Metallica, ALice In Chains and Sabbath, along with the great thrash bands of the past ... AnAkA has a sound all of its own but wear their influences proudly like a badge of pride ... I love this band and I love their music, "Rust & Jade" in my opinion is the best Hard Rock/Metal album that I have heard since the Black Album "Metallica" ... ANAKA RULES ...
