AñaVañA (pronounced onya-vonya) is a Rock / Reggae band from New York City. The group signed with Zip Records in December of 2003, and their debut album has been released to rave reviews:
"Annastasia can move from belting it out to shy schoolgirl in a heartbeat, and admirably covers all points in between... a pleasant alternative to No Doubt"---- NY Rock
"AñaVañA has it all... musicianship and control in their songwriting... very refreshing... Rock, Reggae, Latin and a little Jazz... very unique... Anna's style of singing ranges from gutsy, to the sexy jazz style of Norah Jones... Virtually every song has the potential for radio play" ---- Breakthrough Connections
"The main difference between Annastasia Victory and Gwen Stefani is that Victory can also belt it out as well as purr... this is radio worthy" ---- Collected Sounds
"It's power pop-it's reggae... body-moving with thump thump drums, muscular guitars, rumbling bass... intellectual with creative arrangements, skillful performances, interesting lyrics... complex and highly structured... I love the vocals... a tight, proficient band"---- Jahworks
"Amazing... Sade meets Rock and Reggae"---- Gene Simmons (Madd Maxx Entertainment)
"An intriguing blend of Rock and Reggae... sophisticated, lyrically and musically"---- Dagwood Radio
"Front woman Annastasia Victory delivers a distinctive other-worldly quality... exotic... an uncommon spark"---- Fufkin.com
"Annastasia's vocals are smooth and sexy... experience a new world in their unique diverse music mixture"---- Cool NY

I am mostly a 70's roots reggae listener but I also listen to other genres as well. AnaVana reminds me of the punk bands of the 80's mixed with modern sounds. Their sound is very unique and I highly recommend it.....Jah Bless!!!

The Cd is absolutely fantastical. The more you listen to it, the deeper you fell in love with Annastasia's voice, Ian's guitars and their original, unexpected and inspiring copositions. That CD is amazingly versatile: you can listen to it, you can dance to it, you can fuck to it, you can break up to it. Bravo, Anavana!!

Cool stuff

AñaVañA is classified as Reggae, and I guess they are, but not your classic Marley reggae. They have a definite pop flair to them as well. Maybe even ska, as they remind me a little of No Doubt.
Annastasia Victory is the lead singer as well as keyboard player. Her voice is not as high and childish as Gwen Stefani's voice, but still has a little bit of a girly quality. The main difference is that Victory can also belt it out as well as purr and all in that oh so slight and lovely accent that I can't quite place.
The musicianship in this band is very professional as is the production. High quality in both regards. This is radio worthy.
