Album Notes

Antonio Andrade was born in Puebla de Cazalla near Seville, a village with a strong tradition of
Flamenco singing. Growing up in a family of Flamenco aficionados provided him with a cultural upbringing
in this ancient art form. His uncle is José Menese, a living legend among Flamenco singers.
It almost goes without saying that he began playing guitar at a very early age. His tutors were none
other than Romero de Badajoz, Miguel Perez Sr. and Jr. as well as Antonio Amador from the Gitano
Clan of the Amadores, which spawned many famous Flamenco guitarists. During his long career
he has collaborated with Flamenco greats such as Javier Barón, Israel Galván, Antonio "El Pipa",
Javier Cruz, Sara Baras, Carmen Ledesma, Concha Vargas, Manolo Marín and many others including
André Heller for his show "Magneten-Musik der Zigeuner". As Artistic Director and Producer of the
"Compañia Flamenca Alhama & Maria Serrano" he has proved his talent during many tours all over
the world. Concerts tours with large-scale productions "Viva Sevilla", "Flamenco es mi vida" and
"Mi Carmen Flamenca" have taken him from Europe (Deutsche Oper Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt,
Prinzregententheater München, Filharmonie Warsaw, Konzerthaus Vienna, Teatro Ariston San Remo)
to the USA (Joyce Theater New York, Fox Theater Atlanta, Lensic Theater Santa Fe) to Japan
(International Forum Tokyo, Granship Daichi Shizuoka).
