Andrea Grant has always been a ground-breaker: the unlikely combination of striking Amazon woman and blonde bombshell, rubber-clad superhero and cherry-cheeked pin up girl, artist and intellectual who has made a name for herself in the underground literary and music world. Notorious for merging intellect with provocation, charming audiences with her striking interpretation of feminine archetypes, she has silenced smoky bars with her throaty voice and commanding presence.

Always a central figure in her art, she thrusts herself before the viewer, demanding interpretation, never providing it. Her work is ambiguous and thrives on tension occupying the various gray areas between exhibitionism and art, fashion and fetishism, popular culture and canon. Her body of work is constantly expanding and includes poetry, spoken word, painting, photography, and an upcoming comic book based on her superhero alter-ego MINX.

'Want Some Scratch?' is an album that tells entertaining stories, mixing mythology and the tragi-comedy of human emotion with jazz and hip hop beats produced by The Stylust and Vago.

Think Tom Waits meets Saul Williams with a little Lauren Bacall smokiness...conceptual, precise, and accessible to a variety of listeners.
