Electric Wednesday, Andre Kunz Trio "take a ride"
Three instruments, three musicians, one vision
With "Take a ride" Andre Kunz presents us a CD with 15 originals, full of compromiseless music, bang-hard grooves "playful" solis, sensitive ballads, -music faraway from stylistic conventions. The CD also represents his variety as a guitarist. The preference for funk-music is inescapably audible, in addition, rock, jazz, and elements of drum & bass are set in scene as well and constitute so unmistakably the sound of "Electric Wednesday". Three instruments, three musicians, one vision. As Kunz formulates appropriate in the booklet to "Take a ride": this cd documents a part of a journey that will continue and hopefully lead to more unexpected ground. Diversion is important, but so is continuance, in music as well as in life.. With my regular trio this is what I am trying to achieve, finding the balance between diversion and repetition by continuance to create something original.
The Band
The trio Electric Wednedsday consists of Andre Kunz guitar/composition, as well as the bassists Thomy Jordi, resident of Berlin Germany, which already gained national as well as international attention in earlier years with the band Intergalactic Maidenballet. With his beautifull "fender jazz bass sound" the man is grooving that it is a true joy. Wonderfull his bassolo on the piece called "Shitkicker". The drum seat is taken by Andreas Schnyder, an ideal occupation. Schnyder has played with Andre Kunz for years in diverse musical settings. His versatility and musicality is outstanding. Whether "merciless" funky as to be heard on Mr. Moog and Lanzfunk, or energetic-interactively playing with his comusicians, as to be heard on the song " Finding the balance" Andreas Schnyder brings it always right to the point.
As a "special guest" Belgium resident German drummer Marc Lehan can also be heard on the CD.
