Album Notes

Andrés Prado’s third release Live At The Artists’ Quarter captures the growing artist at an exciting time. Recorded shortly after his arrival to the U.S over a two-night stand at the legendary St. Paul hot spot, the record finds Prado ready to take America by storm. From the moment his scorching guitar burns up the opening track “Eclipse”, it is evident that Prado’s brilliant mixture of bebop and fusion jazz, combined with his native in-born Peruvian rhythms, blend perfectly together to create a completely original style of jazz that can’t be heard anywhere else. Prado’s compositions mix beautiful melodies with intense rhythms and are never short on inspired improvisation. Calling upon the talents of Twin Cities virtuosos Kevin Washington (drums, percussion), Pete Whitman (sax), Jeff Bailey (bass) and others, Andrés and his band play with an incredible passion and prove that they are on an unrelenting mission to spread Prado’s brand of jazz all over America.
