ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Silence is the canvas from which musicians begin to create their art.

To those of you who have not had the privilege of experiencing the music of Andrew Collins ad Marc Roy, two recent additions to the new acoustic scene, you are about to hear the results of two great artists allowing their music to flow freely, in whichever direction, handling it with precision and flare.

This music is a product of a mutual passion for acoutstic music, repect for eachother's abilities, and a great friendship.

Anderw's ability to compose and arrange complex material to sound musically pleasing to any listener, as well as exciting and challenging to the experienced picker is nothing short of astounding. His creative mandolin style pushes all the boundaries, raises the bar, and finds new paths to become a signature sound that will always be indentifiable as his.

Marc's incredible guitar skills also spill over into any string instrument he picks up. His sense of timing and tone are top notch, and the musicianship and composition skills he displays at his young age must be heard to be believed.

From this canvas of silence comes their musical creation. This is an offering from two extremely talented artrists. Enjoy their gift.

Killer
It is one of those albums that you can listen to over and over and you always manage to hear a new line. It is always playing and I never seem to get board with it

Absolutely the most inventive music I have heard in months
I have become a huge fan of Andrew and Marc. Their compositions on this album are unique and very musical. the playing is superb and both artists are masters of their instruments. As of this writing I notice that the
CD is out of stock. I cannot say that surprises me.

THESE BOYS CAN PICK!!!!!!!!
IT'S NOTHING BUT HOSS!!!!!

Can't get enough.
I don't like to replace anything unless it's broken, and I already have lots of CD players, but if they happened to make a new CD player that had a little hard drive with this album and the Creaking Tree CD on it, I'd buy the new CD player because both CDs are in there all the time anyhow, so it would just save me space (exhale).

I was suprised by how well these guys could pick!
Likewise, is a fabulous album for anyone interested in the new acoustic music scene.
I found the CD at Sam the record main on Young street (that's in Toronto Canada) I had no idea who these guys were, but I thought I'd take a listen anyway, and wow! I was certinly impressed.
What we all have to remember is there is incredible acoustic music coming from everywhere these days, and by regular people that love their craft. Not just from Nashville!

Craig Murray

Fantastic Album
Marc and Andrew have put together a fantastic album that highlights their individual talents. Anyone who can play a stringed instrument will be in awe of the proficiency these two have achieved on the mandolin and guitar. The songs range from high energy bluegrass/fiddle tunes to jazz, and even funk with the amazing cover of The Meter's Cissy Strut. Pick this album up, you will be glad you did.

Terry Barnes

Outstanding picking and tone!
This is one great guitar/mando cd! Fantastic timing, tone and precision from these artists. It should be a mandatory cd in any picker's collection.

Bob DeVellis

Fantastic musicianship
This sounded like a promising CD. But then, so many CDs sound good in the blurbs and then disappoint. Not this one. Both the material and the performances are wonderful. The picking is clean and sweet as the duo move form one musical genre to another while maintaining a recognizable style as they do so. Anyone who loves acoustical music of more than a single, narrowly constrained type will find a lot to like in this superb album.
