About the tracks:
1. Out Into the Dance (1984). Filled with longing and triumph. A powerful song supported by lovely upright bass, mandolin, harmony, and percussion.
2. The Other Side of the Road (1992). A driving and intense fingerpicking song about being on the outside looking in. It features just Andrew and his guitar.
3. Mary Stuart (2007). A lovely ballad written from the perspective of Mary Queen of Scots during her captivity in England. Supported by a wonderful violin accompaniment, upright bass, and harmony.
4. Teewinot Sunrise (1989). A soaring instrumental solo in which harmonics (bell-like tones) provide the melodic cornerstone. Named for the sunrise on the Grand Teton mountain range.
5. Turning (2007). A bright song with a Bossa Nova beat. Supported by upright bass, harmonies, accordion, and a magical mandolin part.
6. Mystery (2003). A beautiful ballad about long term commitment and love. Supported by electric bass, harmonies, and accordion.
7. Swallow Me Whole (1991). A driving, powerful prayer to Gaia, asking to be consumed by the Earth and to become part of all that follows. Supported by bass, percussion, harmony, and some awesome electric guitar licks.
8. Highway One (1980). A fun, fast-paced song about driving up the California Coast.
9. Unspoken Journey (1991). A poignant yet sweet solo guitar instrumental.
10. Long Road (2006). A roots-music inspired piece about stumbling over many miles towards an unseen destination of grace. With beautiful harmonies, accordion accompaniment, and electric bass.
11. New Moon (1995). A haunting song to the star-filled, moonless night. Supported by some jazzy upright bass accompaniment.
