Album Notes

Andrew Eversole was born in Harlan, Kentucky and grew up there in the Appalachian mountians. But it wasn't until his family migrated to North Carolina that he began to hear and feel the old mountain sounds of the fiddles and banjos. First, Doc Watson's guitar pickin' from Deep Gap drifted in from the hills, then Earl Scruggs unmistakable banjo playing floated through the air, leaving him hooked beyond any hope of recovery. Hundred of festivals later, and after countless Phish concerts and Grateful Dead bootlegs, Andrew's music is a Creature of its own. It gently and chaotically runs through the most traditional sounding bluegrass, dives into old time, folds into jazz, fuses into funk, and melts into time. This is accomplished while sacrificing nothing in the way of the roots. "Creature" is one of those albums that gets better with each listen.
